Pavel Brauner je rodákem z Brna, kde také celou dobu žije a působí, byť jeho zaměstnavatelé byli z celé republiky či zahraničí. Výtvarně je Pavel Brauner ml. činný od dětství a využíval rad svého strýce, ak.mal. Jiřího Šindlera, jenž byl významným umělcem na poli ilustrace a kaligrafie, emeritním pedagogem na UMPRUM a Fakultě výtvarných umění VUT a mj. nositelem Ceny města Brna a řady dalších ocenění. Pavel Brauner se snaží získávat informace z dostupných a pro něj akceptovatelných zdrojů a čerpá z četných osobních kontaktů ve výtvarných kruzích.
Původně chtěl studovat na filozofické fakultě dějiny výtvarného umění (toto mu nebylo doporučeno výchovným poradcem vzhledem k možnostem tehdejšího uplatnění a také vzhledem ke kádrovému profilu rodiny). Vystudoval tedy obor všeobecné veterinární lékařství a v rámci doktorského studijního programu sociální farmacii a lékárenství.
Vztah k umění ovlivnil jeho děd, Bohumil Brauner – velkoobchodník s kořením, mecenáš umělců a sběratel výtvarných děl. (V jeho sbírkách byla díla autorů - sochařů - Jana Laudy, J. V. Myslbeka, Otto Gutfreunda, Alexandera Trizuliaka, - a malířů Antonína Slavíčka, Václava Špály, Františka Foltýna, Viléma Nowaka, Bohumíra Dvorského, Vincence Beneše, Viléma Plocka, Mikuláše Medka, Otto Stritzka, Miloslava Holého a řady dalších.)
Pavel Brauner má pro svoji tvorbu rád všechny techniky, avšak do grafiky se nepouští často. Akvarel, kvaš, olej i akryl jsou jeho nejčastější techniky, velmi často se uchyluje ke kombinované technice a základem jeho vyjádření bývá kresba.
Motivy hledá různé – obrázky z dovolené, květiny, zvířata – zejména koně, nevyhýbá se abstrakci a koketuje s kaligrafií.

Author´s Bio
A native of Brno, Pavel Brauner has spent his whole life in the city despite of having employers both from the Czech Republic and abroad. Pavel Brauner Jr. has loved art since boyhood and has been following advice of his uncle, academically trained painter Jiří Šindler, an eminent character in the field of illustration and calligraphy, an emeritus teacher at UMPRUM and at the Faculty of Fine Arts at Brno University of Technology, as well as the laureate of the Brno City Award. As a self-learner, Pavel Brauner has been trying to draw information from both available and acceptable sources, and his personal contacts in the fine arts circles.
Though a professional veterinarian, Pavel´s original wishes were to study the history of fine arts and the Faculty of arts. However due to the Communist regime and his own future employment chances he was recommended by his student counselor to follow the footsteps of his father and study veterinary medicine. In his late 40s he achieved another academic degree – PhD in social pharmacy.
Pavel´s attitude to art was greatly influenced by his grandfather, a wholesale dealer of spices and an art collector in whose collection works of sculptors Jan Lauda, J. V. Myslbek, Otto Gutfreund, Alexander Trizuliak and painters Antonín Slavíček, Václav Špála, František Foltýn, Vilém Nowak, Bohumil Dvorský, Vincenc Beneš, Vilém Plock, Mikuláš Medek, Otto Stritzko, Miloslav Holý and many others could be found.
Pavel Brauner enjoys all artistic techniques, nevertheless employs graphic arts the least often. Aquarelle, gouache, oil painting acrylic paints are his most common techniques. Quite often his techniques are combined. His basic expression is drawing.
Pavel seeks inspiration for his works among holiday photos, flowers and animals – especially horses. He enjoys abstractions as well and toys with calligraphy, too.
